Hey yall!, it’s Tammy with Collard Valley Cooks! I am a southern girl born in raised in Collard Valley in Polk County Georgia. We went to church on Sunday, school during the week, the grocery store on Friday’s and that was our life. No vacations, no camping, just plain old southern country people NOW FOR THIS FAMILY RECIPE: Use 10-12 oz frozen sweetened strawberries, put them in a bowl and microwave for 3 minutes. Take them out of the microwave and mash them with a potato master or large spoon against bottom of bowl. For Cake: Mix 1 White cake mix with 3 oz. strawberry gelatin Add 3/4 cup oil, 1/2 cup water, 4 eggs at room temperature Add 1/2 heaping cup of strawberries Mix and pour in a well-greased 1/4 sheet cake pan bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes! Or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool on cooling rack Icing: 1 stick margerine 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar 1/2 cup mashed strawberries (drain berries or strain well) Ice cooled cake and enjoy :) So easy and So delicious! For fresh strawberrys slice strawberries thin until you have at least 1 1/2 cups. Put 1/2 cup sugar over the top and microwave for 2 minutes. Get out and smash with potato masher or something similar and let cool before using in icing. You can use them warm for the cake part.
